Why Palmetto Ridge
Labs in the Trades & Innovation Center include full-scale wiring booths, an industrial controls lab and a rooftop solar array you’ll help monitor and maintain. Classroom hours can count toward state apprenticeship requirements, and we partner with local contractors and utilities on paid work-based learning. Instructor Tamika, a master electrician, leads our Women in the Trades group and teaches the PLC sequence. You’ll earn OSHA 10 certification in your first semester. Graduates work for electrical contractors, manufacturers, utilities and solar companies across South Carolina, and many go on to earn their journeyman and master licenses.
