Why Palmetto Ridge
Field courses launch from the Cypress Landing Marina, home to our research skiffs and a wet lab where you can study live specimens collected the same morning. Students take part in long-term monitoring of oyster reefs and water quality in Cooper’s Run, data that is shared with state natural resource agencies. Professor Celeste and Professor Daniel lead summer field experiences that count toward your degree. Courses align with the South Carolina statewide transfer agreement, and graduates have continued at College of Charleston, the University of South Carolina and Clemson. Many students add a boating safety certification while they’re here.
