Hawks baseball has a reputation for developing players. Head coach Ray Delgado, a former minor league catcher, led the Hawks to the 2023 CJCAC championship and runs a program focused on fundamentals, strength training and smart, aggressive baserunning. Gadsden Park, with its lights and riverside breeze, is one of the best places to watch a game in the Lowcountry.

Coach Delgado tells recruits that grades open doors that talent alone can’t. Players attend study hall, meet regularly with advisors and maintain the department’s 3.2 average GPA. Since 2021, more than 25 Hawks have signed with four-year programs, and several alumni have been selected in the MLB Draft after completing their college careers.
