Hawks men’s basketball plays fast and defends every possession. Head coach Terrence Whitlock, a former Division I guard, built his program on pressure defense, unselfish passing and players who show up for each other on and off the court. Freeman Fieldhouse sells out for rivalry nights, and the student section is a big part of why.
Coach Whitlock’s first priority is the classroom. Players attend mandatory study hall in Ridgeview Commons, and Hawks student-athletes carry an average GPA of 3.2. That focus pays off: over the past five seasons, more than 20 players have moved on to four-year programs, including NCAA Division I and II and NAIA schools, many with scholarships.
