Denise Howard leads the Veterans & Military Success Center, which supports more than 400 veterans, service members, and military-connected family members. She retired as a Sergeant Major after twenty-six years in the U.S. Army, including deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.
Denise and her team help students navigate GI Bill benefits, earn credit for military training, and connect with counseling and peer support. Under her leadership, Palmetto Ridge was recently named a Military Friendly school. She also organizes the annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Veterans Memorial Green. Her door is always open, and she has a reputation for remembering every student’s name, branch, and favorite snack.
