Dr. Aisha Rahman leads Student Affairs, which includes advising, counseling and wellness, accessibility services, student life, campus safety, and the Veterans & Military Success Center. The child of Bangladeshi immigrants who ran a small grocery in Atlanta, she understands firsthand what it means to navigate college as a first-generation student.
Her team built the Hawks Basic Needs Hub, which provides free groceries, emergency grants, and help with housing and childcare. She also led the redesign of new student orientation so that every incoming Hawk is matched with a peer mentor before the first day of class. Dr. Rahman is a certified Mental Health First Aid trainer and an enthusiastic, if not especially talented, pickleball player.
