Dr. LaToya Simmons

Dr. LaToya Simmons is a proud Palmetto Ridge alumna who now leads admissions, financial aid, recruitment, and the Welcome Center in historic Old Main. She grew up twenty minutes from campus and took her first college class here while still in high school through dual enrollment.

Dr. Simmons led the effort that brought fall enrollment to a record 2,450 students, the most diverse class in the college’s history. She is especially proud of the Hawks Promise Scholarship and of the bilingual family nights her team hosts across the Lowcountry. Her philosophy is simple: no student should ever feel too nervous to ask a question. She sings alto in her church choir and has never met a sweet tea she did not like.
