Dr. Yusuf Haddad teaches marine biology, oceanography, and environmental science, and he gets students out of the classroom and onto the water as often as possible. Originally from Lebanon, he has studied coastal ecosystems from the Mediterranean to the Florida Keys.

Dr. Haddad leads the Cooper’s Run Watershed Project, in which students monitor water quality, oyster reefs, and marsh health along the river. Their data is shared with state agencies and local fishermen. He also helped design the new Boatbuilding & Marine Systems lab at Cypress Landing Marina. He is a certified scuba instructor and a patient teacher of anyone who has never been in a kayak.
