Professor Anika Patel teaches marketing, entrepreneurship, and small business management. She grew up working the front desk of her family’s motel in Myrtle Beach, which she calls the best business education she ever received.
Professor Patel launched the Hawks Launchpad, a small-business incubator where students and community members test ideas, build business plans, and pitch to local investors. Recent Launchpad alumni have opened a food truck, a bilingual tutoring service, and a sweetgrass basket shop online. She also advises Phi Beta Lambda and teaches a popular evening course for adult learners who want to grow side businesses. She loves cricket, cooking, and a good spreadsheet.
