Professor Mei-Ling Chou teaches programming, data structures, and cybersecurity fundamentals. Before joining Palmetto Ridge in 2014, she spent a decade as a software engineer in Atlanta, and she brings real-world projects into every course she teaches.

Professor Chou is the faculty advisor for the Hawks Coding Club and Women in Tech, and she helped launch the college’s Cybersecurity Certificate in partnership with regional employers. She is known for patient office hours and for her belief that anyone can learn to code with the right support. Her students regularly transfer to Clemson, the University of South Carolina, and Georgia Tech. She enjoys hiking, bubble tea, and teaching her two kids to build robots.
