Tony Nguyen is often the first person new students meet at the Welcome Center in historic Old Main. He works with first-year, international, and returning adult students, helping them apply, register for orientation, and get settled into the Hawk Portal.
Tony’s parents came to the Lowcountry from Vietnam and opened a nail salon in Cypress Landing, and he started his own college journey at Palmetto Ridge before transferring to the College of Charleston. He speaks English and Vietnamese and leads campus tours in both. He coordinates the international student welcome program, which now includes students from 22 countries. He is a dedicated amateur photographer and documents campus events for the Hawks Instagram account.
