In recognition of Native American Heritage Month, the Heritage Center welcomes a panel of tribal historians and educators to discuss the Indigenous peoples of the Lowcountry, from the Kiawah, Etiwan, and Edisto peoples whose homelands include Cooper’s Run to the Native communities that continue to thrive in South Carolina today.

The conversation will explore language, land, and cultural revival, and how colleges can be better partners to Native students. Moderated by Dr. Jamal Mitchell, Chief Diversity & Belonging Officer. A reception with traditional foods follows. Free and open to the public; captioning provided.
