Bring the whole family to the Old Main Quad for Winter Lights, an evening celebrating the many traditions of the season. The Black Student Union will lead a Kwanzaa candle-lighting ceremony and reflection on the Nguzo Saba, the seven principles, while student groups share Hanukkah, Diwali, Christmas, Lunar New Year, and winter solstice traditions.
Enjoy hot cider, sweet potato pie, a West African drum circle, a children’s craft tent, and a market of student and local Gullah Geechee artisans. A sensory-friendly area will be available. Free and open to the community.
