Nursing students practicing patient care in the simulation lab

Our Associate Degree in Nursing prepares you to sit for the NCLEX-RN and step into a hospital, clinic or long-term care setting ready to work. You’ll learn in the Health Sciences Building on the Ridgeview Campus, where our simulation suite includes a six-bed medical-surgical ward, a labor and delivery room and high-fidelity patient manikins that breathe, bleed and talk back.

What you’ll learn

  • Foundations of patient care, pharmacology and safe medication administration
  • Medical-surgical, maternal-child, pediatric and mental health nursing
  • Clinical judgment, prioritization and delegation on a real unit
  • Communication with patients and families from every background
  • Leadership and transition to professional practice

Why Palmetto Ridge

Every student completes more than 600 clinical hours, most of them at Lowcountry Regional Medical Center, our partner hospital just across Cooper’s Run. Clinical groups are capped at eight students so your instructor knows how you think, not just what you chart. Our graduates consistently pass the NCLEX on the first try at rates above the South Carolina average, and many receive job offers from Lowcountry Regional before graduation. Veterans with military medic or corpsman experience can earn advanced standing, and our evening study lab, led by nursing faculty like Denise and Marcus, runs four nights a week during the semester. When you’re ready, our RN-to-BSN pathways with SC public universities let you keep climbing.
