The Engineering Transfer degree gives you the demanding math and science foundation that engineering schools expect, taught in small classes where you can ask questions and get them answered. It’s designed for students heading toward civil, mechanical, electrical, environmental or computer engineering.
What you’ll learn
- Calculus I through III and differential equations
- Calculus-based physics with lab
- General chemistry
- Engineering graphics, CAD and design process
- Statics and introductory programming for engineers
Why Palmetto Ridge
Engineering students work in the Ridgeview STEM Center’s design studio, which includes 3D printers, a laser cutter and a small materials testing lab. In the Introduction to Engineering course, teams design solutions to real Lowcountry challenges such as flood resilience along Cooper’s Run. Professor Adebayo, a licensed civil engineer, advises every engineering student personally. Courses follow the South Carolina statewide transfer agreement, and graduates have continued at Clemson, the University of South Carolina and SC State. Because the Ridgeview Campus itself is LEED-Gold certified, you can study a working example of sustainable design every day on your way to class.
