Hawks track and field is home to sprinters, hurdlers, distance runners, jumpers and throwers, all competing as one coed team. Head coach Danielle Ashford, a former national-level sprinter, leads a staff that coaches every event group. Athletes train and compete on the eight-lane track surrounding Hawks Field.
Coach Ashford focuses on individual progress, with personal-best charts posted after every meet. Athletes maintain the department’s 3.2 average GPA, and the program has a strong history of transfers, with recent Hawks competing at Division I, Division II and NAIA programs. Several cross country runners also compete in distance events each spring.
