Robert Chen-Whitaker manages the college’s budget, facilities, technology, and auxiliary services. A Lowcountry native who grew up in Summerville, he spent twelve years in public accounting before discovering that he would rather help a college stretch every dollar on behalf of students.
Robert guided the financing and construction of the Ridgeview Campus, which opened on time and under budget in 2019, and he led the solar canopy project that recently brought the campus to net-zero electricity. He is passionate about transparency and publishes a plain-language budget summary for students every year. Outside work, he coaches youth soccer and is slowly restoring a 1970s wooden sailboat at the Cypress Landing Marina.
